The Steelers could bring back Terrell Edmunds to start on their defense

Many might not be thrilled with the idea of bringing back Terrell Edmunds, but the Steelers should explore this option. He was a dependable guy who played a specific role on defense that allowed Minkah Fitzpatrick to play the style that made him special. Both Edmunds and Fitzpatrick had an undeniable chemistry as safety partners.

Chemistry is big as it provides both stability and someone they can rely on in coverage. After injuries hit the position this past year, there were plenty of gaffs in coverage. Pittsburgh missed that stability that Edmunds had, especially since he never missed a game. Both the team and Edmunds decided to move on last offseason.

Edmunds signed with the Eagles and was later traded to the Titans. Pittsburgh decided to bring back Damontae Kazee and add Keanu Neal. Both Kazee and Neal missed significant time due to suspensions and injury. Fitzpatrick also missing significant time with injury which made the depth at safety laughable. Bringing back Edmunds is something the black and gold must consider.

He is a pending free agent and shouldn't command much of a market. He should be able to bring some stability back at safety and allow Fitzpatrick to get to his style of play that makes him a star. It would likely be a cheap deal, but it is unknown if Edmunds would like to return. It might not be the most popular move according to the fans, but it would make things settle down at safety.
