The number one free agent quarterback option for the Steelers this offseason would be Gardner Minshew. Minshew is the ideal option in free agency, as he checks all the boxes, as a player with plenty of playing experience, and a proven strong backup who has stepped up when needed.

Minshew diced up the Steelers this season, leading the Colts to a 30-13 victory, in a game where he threw 3 touchdowns and zero interceptions. He is a great game manager, as he rarely turns the ball over, and has a little bit of mobility.

His strong play this year will likely make him a sought-after player, as many teams will be interested in his services, especially if he can help the Colts clinch a playoff birth. Many teams will be lining up to make him offers, as he can serve as a backup anywhere or a bridge option to a team that wants a rookie to sit and learn behind him.

Clearly, the Steelers have plenty of options at the quarterback position this offseason.
