James Daniels, IOL

Now, we get to a spot where things aren't exactly set in stone, but we think we know what's going to happen. James Daniels' contract expires after this year, thus the Steelers went out and drafted Mason McCormick in the fourth round. He'll likely make a second-year jump in 2025, but there's always a chance McCormick surprises us as a rookie.

Daniels was fine in 2023, but he wasn't an All Pro or Pro Bowl type of player by any means. He's certainly replaceable, should McCormick prove to be starting-quality. That probably won't happen in 2024, but, you never know.

Elandon Roberts, LB

One of the draft's most exciting linebacker prospects with a high ceiling, Payton Wilson came to Pittsburgh by way of North Carolina State in the third round. At the moment, Elandon Roberts is going to start on the inside. But, Wilson brings a ton of talent to the position and very well could steal some playing time.

In fact, it's safe to say Wilson will indeed take some time away in certain packages, at least as a rookie. By 2025, Wilson should be able to take over a full-time starting role if he hasn't by the end of this coming season.
