The Pittsburgh Steelers had a disastrous showing against the Indianapolis Colts on both sides of the football. From the opening drive, Colts' head coach Shane Steichen proved to be Mike Tomlin's kryptonite once again, as Indy jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first half.

The Steelers offered practically zero noteworthy plays on either side of the ball, as this team hardly showed up to play. However, Pittsburgh's highlight of Week 4 belonged to tight end Darnell Washington.

Attempting to give the offense a spark before the half, Justin Fields dumped the ball off to Washington, and the big tight end took care of the rest.

Though he caught the ball at the line of scrimmage, Washington broke tackles along the sideline and hurdled to perfection to turn a minimal gain into a 20-yard explosive play. At 6'7'' and 270 pounds, Washington has no business moving the way he did.

The official NFL 'X' account thought the play was so nice, they showed it twice. Here's the replay angle:

Steelers fans wasted no time taking to social media to rave about the second-year tight end -- many of them endorsing Washington for a much bigger role in Pittsburgh's offense.

Steelers need to utilize Darnell Washington

Because of his size, Washington is a bit lumbering, and he's never going to be the most fluid tight end in terms of route running and change of direction ability. However, the Georgia product tested as a phenomenal athlete at the 2023 NFL Combine before becoming a third-round pick of the Steelers.

Before facing the Colts in Week 4, Washington was hardly used in the passing game, but he did have an outstanding touchdown reception on a back-shoulder fade when he easily boxed out the safety.

The Steelers are more than desperate for an offensive spark, and Washington could give them what they need. At this point, Pittsburgh's lackluster offense should take anything they can get. Let's hope this team can find a spark.
