Shane Steichen's offense makes mincemeat out of Steelers' top-ranked defense

This is not the start we hoped for.

This is not the start to Week 4 Pittsburgh Steelers fans were hoping for. After winning three straight games and coming off an impressive road win over the LA Chargers, fans were hoping Mike Tomlin's team would keep the momentum going against the Colts.

They did not.

On the very first play of the game, Colts' quarterback Anthony Richardson zipped the ball 42 yards on a rope to wide receiver Michael Pittman before All-Pro running back Jonathan Taylor busted off a 14-yard run on the very next play.

Indianapolis marched the ball down the first for an eight-play, 70-yard touchdown drive to open the game... and things couldn't have looked any easier for the Colts.

It didn't end there. On the second offensive series for Indy, the Colts made it look just as easy. Despite Anthony Richardson leaving with a hip injury, Indy was able to march down the field with backup QB Joe Flacco for a nine-play 86-yard touchdown drive -- jumping out to a 14-0 lead.

Shane Steichen may be the Steelers' kryptonite

The Steelers couldn't have come out any flatter against the Colts in Week 4. With a chance to make a statement and maintain pole position in the AFC North, Pittsburgh is doing anything but.

Last year, Tomlin's team was blasted against the Colts in a 30-13 loss, and we're seeing now that Shane Steichen could be the kryptonite to this otherwise impressive defense.

Steichen's RPO-heavy offense routinely had the defense on their heels when these teams met last year. Starting off Week 4, it's been no different.

Mike Tomlin needs to find a way to counteract this. If he can't come up with a solution quickly, disaster will strike once more. Let's hope they can figure things out soon.
