The Pittsburgh Steelers have been far from lucky when it comes to injuries along the offensive line. It all started with left guard Isaac Seumalo suffering a pectoral injury in the preseason.
Then first-round pick right tackle Troy Fautanu went down with a regular-season-ending injury. Now, starting right guard James Daniels is out for the year after suffering an Achilles injury last week.
While the Steelers have promising youth waiting in the wings, the lack of a veteran presence in the trenches complicates everything in the offense.
Isaac Seumalo Will Play vs. Cowboys
Luckily, though, Seumalo is back in the lineup for the Steelers. He was slated to return against the Cowboys after missing the first four weeks of the 2024 season and will do just that as he takes back over at left guard.
While Spencer Anderson and Mason McCormick had positive moments in his place, Seumalo's return to the lineup will be a welcome addition for an offensive line that features just four years of NFL playing experience from center to right tackle. McCormick is taking over at right guard for Daniels.
Seumalo was a full practice participant on Wednesday and Thursday, and while he was limited Friday, he was listed without an injury designation late in the week, indicating he would return to the Steelers offense.
While the Cowboys' defense won't be at full strength, Micah Parsons is out with an ankle injury, the Dallas defense is one of the better units when it comes to talent. Dallas's defense has sputtered out of the gate, especially against the run as it adjusts to Mike Zimmer's scheme.
The Steelers will look to get the run game going with Najee Harris behind Seumalo and Dan Moore on the left side of a now healthy offensive line.
