It's no secret that the Pittsburgh Steelers need help badly when it comes to their cornerback situation. As they're a team rebuilding for a brighter future, it should be expected that the Steelers will more than likely use the No. 17 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft on a cornerback.

Of course, things can change between now and when the Steelers are on the clock but if cornerback Joey Porter Jr. is still available, they should draft him in a heartbeat. Porter Jr. is an absolute beast of a corner that does all the little things right and is ready to take the NFL by storm.

At 6'2 and 195 pounds, Porter Jr. truly made a name for himself in four years at Penn State. In his collegiate career, he totaled 113 tackles, one interception, one sack, and 20 passes defended. He would bring an immediate boost to the Steelers' defensive secondary the moment he steps onto the gridiron for the black and yellow.

Joey Porter Jr. would be a solid draft pick at No. 17 for the Steelers

Besides being a local college kid out of Penn State, in case you didn't know, this is indeed the son of legendary Steelers linebacker Joey Porter. Can you imagine what a perfect story that would be for him to follow in his dad's footsteps?

Porter Jr. would bring speed and toughness to a defense that desperately needs more of it. Hopefully, he'll still be around when the Steelers are ready to finalize their draft pick as he's easily going to be a first-round pick. Not only is he that good but it wouldn't even be a crazy thought to see the Steelers consider trading up just to get him. He's that good and one of the best cornerbacks heading into this year's draft.

Here's to everything falling into place with the Steelers and being able to draft Porter Jr. into the franchise so he can step right in and start taking care of business. If they don't end up going after a top cornerback in free agency to address one of their biggest team needs this offseason, Porter Jr. would be the next big thing to bolster the positional group.
