It has been a whirlwind of a past couple of days for star wide receiver Davante Adams and, just like when the whole Brandon Aiyuk saga began, the Pittsburgh Steelers seemed to be right in the thick of the rumors.

Adams missed this past week's game with a hamstring injury that emerged late in the week and, to some folks, it seemed a bit fishy.

Fast forward to head coach Antonio Pierce adding fuel to the trade speculation fire by liking a post on social media that referred to Adams having played his last game for the Raiders and, well, this is where we're at. The former All Pro has officially requested a trade out of Las Vegas.

Now, the question is, where will the Raiders deal him?

There were some likely destinations which came to the minds of many experts, namely the New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens or even these very Steelers. After all, the Steelers were involved with the Aiyuk drama down to the wire, but he ended up staying in San Francisco.

Now, the Steelers might have an opportunity to land an even more-established wideout for Justin Fields and the offense.

Or, at least, fans had enjoyed the thought of a potential Adams trade up until now.

Wednesday night, NFL insider Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated posted an update on the situation and stated that any teams involved in conversations with Las Vegas have become "convinced" that Adams is zeroed-in on making his way to the Jets.

The Steelers' interest in Davante Adams will only continue adding speculation before the trade deadline

Just as the Steelers were interested in Aiyuk and now Adams, they will continue to be monitoring the situations of other wide receivers around the league.

Don't think, for a second, Pittsburgh is close to being done. This is a team that would still benefit greatly from adding a top-tier wide receiver, and there could be more on the move before the November 5 trade deadline this season.

One interesting name to bring up is within the division: Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper. The Browns gave Cooper a pay raise over the offseason but he's still a free agent after this year. And, Cleveland also just restructured his contract yet again, making a trade far more feasible (and likely, too).

Cooper would be a fantastic option if the Steelers could pull it off.

Although, it would be pretty surprising to see the Browns make a notable deal with Pittsburgh.

Other potential trade targets might include: Darius Slayton (New York Giants), Jalin Hyatt (New York Giants), Cooper Kupp (Los Angeles Rams) or Courtland Sutton (Denver Broncos).
