One thought for all 90 players on the Steelers roster entering training camp
- A plethora of defensive backs in the mix
- Plenty of developmental prospects on the roster

Tight end: Suddenly one of the biggest strengths on Steelers roster
Pat Freiermuth: Freiermuth was arguably the best overall player on the Steelers' offense last year. If he can avoid further concussion scares and stay on the field for more than 15 games for the first time in his career, he could enter the discussion as a top-five tight end in the NFL.
Darnell Washington: Washington was the prototype traits-based prospect in the 2023 NFL Draft. At 6'7'' and nearly 270 pounds, he projects as the ideal in-line 'Y' tight end and should be a great complement to Freiermuth in '12' personnel packages.
Zach Gentry: Even though the Steelers are suddenly loaded at tight end, Gentry still seems like a solid bet to make the roster after Pittsburgh signed him just before the NFL Draft. Gentry is somewhat maxed out as a player, but his 6'8'', 265-pound frame is still an asset in the running game. He could act as a tight end insurance policy.
Rodney Williams: It's hard to see a route where Williams makes the 53-man roster, barring multiple injuries at the position. Williams is old for a player with just one year of experience, but he could learn from a strong group of tight ends this summer as he looks to land on a practice squad in 2023.
