The AFC playoff picture is far from clear with just two weeks to go, and the Pittsburgh Steelers still have life.

Despite question marks at several key positions, including the most important position in football, Pittsburgh is still in it.

Speaking of those question marks, let's look ahead at the 2024 offseason. In the spirit of the New Year, the Steelers could give themselves new life in picking up some of the following big name free agents.

1. Tyron Smith, OT

One of the key cogs in the Dallas Cowboys' offense this year has been offensive tackle Tyron Smith, just as he has been for the past decade-plus. Smith is a future Hall of Fame inductee, no doubt. But, he is not done playing football just yet.

The 33-year-old missed last week with a back injury and health looks to be an issue for him over the latter part of the year. Smith actually hasn't played a full season since 2015, and last played at least 13 games back in 2019.

The 8-time Pro Bowler and 2-time All Pro is set to become a free agent at the end of this season, and it might be time for Dallas to look at a replacement option. Smith played just two games in 2020 and only appeared in four last season. Sandwiched in there was a Pro Bowl season in 2021, though, and he's played extremely well this year which could lead to yet another.

The Steelers need help at offensive tackle, and if they are in a position to win in 2024, Smith would be a phenomenal signing. Of course, that would mean the quarterback position is figured out, too.
