This season, we are pretty close to the point of the Pittsburgh Steelers needing to reset at the quarterback position.

What we've seen out of Kenny Pickett in a year and a half hasn't given hope that he can live up to the first-round pedigree he brought to Pittsburgh. After this year is up, the Steelers have to re-evaluate.

It's probably time to move on and find a new answer for this team that's ready to compete. In 2024, they have options. Let's look at three quarterbacks the Steelers should target, along two they should avoid.

Target No. 1: Justin Fields via trade

At the moment, this appears to be a long shot. After weeks of whispers that the Bears could or even should move on from Justin Fields, I don't see it happening. His no. 1 receiver D.J. Moore even recently came out and told the media that Fields "is better than those guys," referring to Caleb Williams and Drake Maye, whom the Bears could select no. 1 overall in next year's draft.

But, on the off-chance that the Bears do end up blowing smoke and part ways with Fields, the Steelers should be first in line. This guy is absolutely electric with the ball in his hands, becoming just the third quarterback ever to rush for 1,000 yards in a season.

The guy also has an arm, contrary to some of the critics out there. Just do some digging and watch a little tape. Fields has a big arm and throws an accurate ball, for the vast majority of his passes. With Fields under center, this offense becomes a whole different level of dynamic.
