5. Drake Maye, UNC (via trade-up)

Finally, the Steelers could opt to make a huge trade up in the draft, sacrificing future draft capital, in order to move up and select North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye. In order to do this, they would probably wind up making a deal with a team like New England or Arizona, ironically enough -- the two teams they've lost to recently.

Maye is every bit of a prototypical NFL quarterback, standing 6-foot-4 and being able to move around the pocket very well. He's a mobile guy who can extend plays and also has a cannon for an arm. This season, he's had a bit of a down year compared to his 2022 campaign, but Maye is still viewed as the clear-cut, no. 2 quarterback in his class.

In order to get Maye, the Steelers would likely have to trade their current first-round pick, a first rounder next year, a couple of second-round selections and maybe a mid-round pick or two.
