Steelers mock draft: Pittsburgh fills in the gaps after free agency frenzy

Steelers mock draft round 7: EDGE Nick Herbig
With fantastic college production and solid film, it's very possible that someone takes a chance on Nick Herbig long before this pick. However, it's easy to see that Herbig's skillset won't translate as well at the next level.
At just 6'2'' and 240 pounds with tiny 31 1/4'' arms, Herbig is severely lacking the size and play strength to hold up on the edge as a full-time outside linebacker for the Steelers. Because of this, there may only be a handful of teams that will consider him in their scheme. This may also force Herbig to play a hybrid edge/linebacker role at the next level, and a coordinator may have to get creative with him if it's going to work out.
Still, this just seems like a Steelers pick. Pittsburgh recently signed his big brother, Nate Herbig, in free agency. He brings the tenacity and power Pittsburgh has been in need of on the offensive line. We all know how much Mike Tomlin values strong family bloodlines, and this connection makes sense.
This team could sign a player like Bud Dupree to fill the depth in free agency, but that still doesn't rule out a depth addition like Herbig late in the draft. If he falls this far (or if the Steelers trade back for additional picks) I think there's a good chance he lands in Pittsburgh this April.
