The Pittsburgh Steelers advanced to 3-0 on the regular season, but their Week 3 victory over the LA Chargers didn't come without a cost. During the game, Mike Tomlin's roster was decimated with injuries as numerous players left the game.

These injuries came just days after the team announced rookie offensive tackle Troy Fautanu would miss his entire rookie season with a knee injury. The latest Steelers news revolved around the health of Pittsburgh's starting running back and a pivotal defensive player.

Najee Harris wearing a sling on his right arm

Nick Farabaugh of PennLive reported on September 23 that Najee Harris was spotted wearing a sling on his right arm. No injury was apparent for Harris during Pittsburgh's win against the Chargers on Sunday, which has some questioning if this injury occurred on one of the final runs of the game.

It's possible the sling is simply precautionary due to soreness. Najee has had a strong start to his 2024 season, and with Jaylen Warren dealing with a knee injury, Harris' absence would be a huge blow to the team if he has to miss any time.

Alex Highsmith aggravates groin injury

Alex Highsmith left Sunday's contest against the Chargers after playing 25 snaps on defense. Highsmith sustained a groin injury during the game and did not return.

Unfortunately, Highsmith admitted to aggravating the same injury he dealt with during the preseason. An MRI will reveal the damage and how much time he could miss.

Highsmith is expected to be sidelined against the Colts in Week 4. In his absence, second-year standout Nick Herbig is expected to get the start opposite T.J. Watt on Pittsburgh's defense.

Cory Trice leaves Steelers game with hamstring injury

During Pittsburgh's Week 3 contest against the Chargers, Cory Trice Jr. left the game after one snap due to a hamstring injury, Burt Lauten reported. Trice was a part-time defensive player for the Steelers in his first two contests -- earning work as a dime defender.

Trice earned a key interception in the endzone in Week 2 against the Broncos and his strong performance was expected to earn him an increased workload before his hamstring injury. Trice has an extensive injury history which includes multiple ACL tears. This injury history caused the talented defensive back to slip to the seventh round in the 2023 NFL Draft.

As of now, a timetable for Trice's return to the field is unknown. Stay tuned for updates.
