OG Kevin Dotson: Stock down

One player who continues to shoot himself in the foot is Kevin Dotson. At times, Dotson has looked utterly dominant on the Steelers offensive line. Other times, mental lapses get the best of him and he looks like a player who should be watching from the sidelines.

Despite the fact that the Steelers signed two veteran free agent guards this offseason, Dotson had a chance to showcase his improvement from year 2 to year 3. However, his recent comments certainly aren't going to do him any favors with the coaching staff.

Dotson basically conceded his starting job to Isaac Seumalo, noting that they paid good money to acquire Seumalo, and saying 'once you pay somebody, it's almost set in stone.'

This is not the type of attitude Mike Tomlin and Pat Meyer want their players to have, and Dotson appears to be pouting over his looming demotion. Dotson has already been in the dog house with this coaching staff in the past. If he can't beat out Nate Herbig for the primary backup job, the Steelers may end up deciding that his attitude isn't worth keeping him around on the roster in 2023. Kevin Dotson's stock is clearly trending down.
