Secondary positions will have a ton of competition to complete the roster

Cornerback is still a major need heading into the draft as both starting outside corner and depth at the slot position need to be covered. Not every need will be addressed throughout the offseason, but one of those two spots needs to be figured out by the end of the offseason. Safety could be a sleeper pick in the draft, but the four that made this roster are a solid group overall.

Cornerback (5): Patrick Peterson, Deonte Banks, Levi Wallace, Arthur Maulet, James Pierre

Not having another slot corner to come onto the field on cover downs is somewhat stressful to see. Arthur Maulet will be taking on the brunt of those responsibilities with a hopeful safety potentially taking over the other half of the slot role. James Pierre makes the team after having a solid year last time around in a depth role. This opens the door for Deonte Banks and Levi Wallace to battle for the last outside corner spot opposite of Patrick Peterson.

Safety (4): Minkah Fitzpatrick, Keanu Neal, Damontae Kazee, Tre Norwood

Keanu Neal gave Pittsburgh enough comfortability to not select a safety in the draft. Minkah Fitzpatrick speaks for himself. Damontae Kazee could challenge for the coverage duties in the slot role for this upcoming season. He deserves a role increase. Tre Norwood makes the final roster after beating out Miles Killebrew because of his position flexibility on top of his special team's availability as well.
