What time is the Steelers game tonight?
By Tommy Jaggi
How many of you have been caught scrambling to get the Steelers game on just minutes before kickoff? We've all been there. Sometimes prior obligations get in the way or we simply lose track of time. Regardless of the reason, it's never a good feeling to be late to the action. Even missing the first series of a game can cause unnecessary frustration.
If this is you, we are here to make sure you tune in on time. Tonight, the Pittsburgh Steelers will be playing their 2023 preseason finale against the Atlanta Falcons. Last December, Mike Tomlin's team traveled to Atlanta to face the Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Tonight's game is also on the road.
During the preseason, schedules and kickoff times can be very inconsistent. This summer, the Steelers have played on Friday night, Saturday night, and now on Thursday night on a short week. But what time does the game start tonight?
What time is the Steelers game?
The Steelers vs. Falcons Week 3 preseason contest is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time. This will be a nationally televised game live on NFL Network.
For those who don't have access to NFL Network, the game will also be televised locally on KDKA-TV (check your local listing if you are outside of Pittsburgh). Bob Pompeani, Charlie Batch, and Missi Matthews will be calling the game, and you can catch the pre-game show on Steelers Nation Radio.
During Mike Tomlin's pre-game press conference, he didn't come out and say which starters will be playing, but he did hint that he doesn't need to see as much from All-Pros and 30-year-old cornerbacks. Outside of this, it looks like all other healthy players will suit up.
After what Kenny Pickett showed in his first two contests, we don't envision Tomlin leaving him out on the field very long. Because of spectacular back-to-back performances in the preseason already heading into the finale, Tomlin will probably be content calling it a night for the starters than he otherwise would.
Still, this doesn't mean fans shouldn't be excited to tune in. There are plenty of players near the bottom of the roster who will be fighting tooth and nail to earn a spot on the final 53 this year. All roster cuts must be made by 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday.
The biggest goal for the Pittsburgh Steelers should be to escape this contest without any injuries. The good thing about this being a Thursday night game is that Pittsburgh will have over two weeks and change to prepare for their home opener against the San Francisco 49ers. Jobs are on the line tonight for the Steelers. Be sure to tune in!
