Most want to know who the Steelers will take at the top of their draft class. While those players must provide an immediate impact, you cannot look past the rest of the class. Day three prospects selected between rounds four and seven always have hidden gems. No matter if that is Antonio Brown or Mike Webster. You can find talent at any point in the draft process.

Many scouts do not see much promise in this crop of incoming rookies. Either they think it's light with talent or won't provide much depth across the NFL. Some positions are flying under the radar as the selection process gets closer. Low expectations could yield excellent results.

Finding a hidden gem is not easy, but it isn't impossible either.

Tyler Shough, QB, Louisville

Like most quarterbacks down at the Senior Bowl, Tyler Shough didn't have a great week. The event saw poor quarterback play overall, but this Louisville product did provide some good outings. Expectations are where things could go haywire for this quarterback class. There are no game-changers in this group, but they could have some developmental guys.

While Shough probably won't turn into the next Tom Brady, he could be a solid backup in another year or two. He got his first season under his belt as a starter during his 7th year of eligibility. The incoming rookie will be 26 in September. That is old for a draft prospect. He produced respectable numbers this past campaign, and he could get better with NFL talent around him.

Cobee Bryant, CB, Kansas

Having elite size is something every NFL team is searching for. It is a pass-first league now, and the only way to have a fighter's chance is to have a strong cornerback duo. Having elite size means being above six feet tall and hovering around 200 pounds. Cobee Bryant is barely six feet tall and sits around 170 pounds. He doesn't possess the elite-size team's wants, but his production is eye-popping.

Bryant became an immediate impact player at Kansas. He only got better with age, and he compiled a collegiate career of 13 interceptions, with two of those returned for touchdowns. This four-year starter translated that success with an incredible week at the East-West Shrine Bowl. He would be perfect for the Steelers between rounds three and five.

Tai Felton, WR, Maryland

Signing an upgrade at the receiver position in free agency might be best. Even if the Steelers sign someone, they should consider at least double dipping at the position this offseason. Taking a receiver early in the draft is a good idea, but Pittsburgh could find a gem in the later rounds.

Tai Felton could be one of those gems on day three of the event.

Considering the poor quarterback play that Felton dealt with throughout his college career, his numbers are solid. His best year occurred in 2024 when he made career marks in receiving yards and touchdowns. The Maryland product had a solid week at the Senior Bowl, and the connection between that University and the Steelers remains strong.
