Back to reality...

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2, and it was an inconsistent performance from Aaron Rodgers and the offense.

After an amazing and, frankly, unexpected Week 1 performance against the New York Jets, the Pittsburgh Steelers were dealt a dose of reality in Week 2, and it just was not pretty. Perhaps the Jets are truly among the worst teams in the NFL, as evidenced by their blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 2.

This was bound to happen, but it's still tough to endure. A ton of change hit the Steelers' franchise this offseason, and it oftentimes takes that change multiple weeks to get going. Well, the first example of this was on Sunday afternoon in Pittsburgh...

Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers hit with offensive inconsistencies

Throwing for just 37 yards at halftime, Aaron Rodgers and the offense just did not find their groove, and some self-inflicted wounds also contributed to their loss in Week 2. Rookie running back Kaleb Johnson had a horrid lapse in judgment when fielding a kickoff, as it landed in the landing zone and was a live ball.

The ball was recovered by George Holani for a Seattle touchdown. But anyway, Aaron Rodgers was simply not good, and even threw a rare interception in the end zone. He added a second interception late in the fourth quarter and finished with just 18 completions on 33 attempts for 203 yards.

A 31-17 victory for Seattle does figure to make the Pittsburgh Steelers address some key issues going forward. GM Omar Khan brought in a ton of new faces for an all-in type of push, and it's imperative that the offense bounces back in Week 3 and beyond.

This type of game was bound to happen, but it was tough to see, especially with an all-time great QB in Aaron Rodgers running the show.
