Training camps are underway around the NFL, and in Western Pennsylvania, the Pittsburgh Steelers are once again locked in on their ultimate goal: preparing to win a Super Bowl.
With Mike Tomlin leading the charge at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, the team is focused, determined, and chasing greatness.
But while the Steelers gear up for another run, a familiar face is making headlines in a different jersey—former Pittsburgh quarterback Russell Wilson. After a quiet and respectful parting of ways with the Steelers, Wilson has found a fresh start with the New York Giants.
And so far, he’s making the most of it.
During Giants camp, Wilson has looked every bit like the All-Pro quarterback he’s been for most of his career. He’s turned heads with his command of the offense, leadership in the huddle, and most notably, his growing connection with wideout Malik Nabers.

The duo has already sparked comparisons to the bond Wilson formed with George Pickens during his time in Pittsburgh last season—a connection that helped the Steelers reach the playoffs.
The Pittsburgh Steelers must outplay Russell Wilson during the 2025 season
Wilson’s signature "moon ball"—a perfectly arced deep pass that drops into a receiver’s hands like a punt—has made the rounds on social media once again, this time in Giants blue.
It’s a skill that stretches defenses and puts pressure on secondaries, and it’s something Pittsburgh fans remember all too well.
In 2024, Wilson started 11 games for the Steelers, throwing for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, and just 5 interceptions. It was a bounce-back campaign that reignited his career and gave Pittsburgh a spark when they needed it most.

Now, Brian Daboll and the Giants are hoping he can do the same in New York.
At 36, Wilson knows he’s on the back end of his career, but there’s a hunger in his play that suggests he’s not done yet. His focus, work ethic, and ability to elevate those around him haven’t gone unnoticed.
The Steelers may have turned the page with Aaron Rodgers now leading the offense, but there’s no doubt they’ll be keeping an eye on No. 3 in New York this fall. Wilson gave Pittsburgh everything he had—and while their paths have diverged, there’s mutual respect and well wishes on both sides.
Until their paths cross again…
