Steelers fans need to check their blood pressure after heart-stopping Week 10 win
By Tommy Jaggi
We can't sit here honestly and say we knew the Steelers had this one in the bag since the beginning. Pittsburgh trailed from late in the second quarter until the closing minutes of the game before new trade acquisition Mike Williams made what would be the game-winning 32-yard touchdown catch with 2:22 remaining in the contest.
This spectacular go-ahead score wasn't the end. The Washington Commanders had a chance to fight back, and on 4th-and-9, it appeared they picked up the yardage needed to keep the chains moving as they neared field goal range for the go-ahead score.
Thankfully, tight end Zach Ertz was marked down short. When Pittsburgh got the ball back, they caused a Commanders' defender to jump offsides and were able to kneel on the ball to end the game.
As always, Pittsburgh kept us on our toes... and fans let the team hear about it.
We're all thrilled to see this team sitting on a 7-2 record as we gear up for the second half of the season, but it wasn't pretty. Fans took to social media to chime in with their thoughts on the stress-inducing win.
You'd think that Steelers fans would be used to the drama by now, but it doesn't work that way. Each game is a new adventure of its own, and this team once again had our hearts racing.
Steelers kept us on the edge of our seats... again
Before the controversial fourth-down spot call, Steelers fans were fuming when Jaylen Warren fumbled at the goal line (a play that could have been ruled dead by forward progress had the refs blown the whistle). A few plays later, the officials missed a blatant holding call as T.J. Watt was nearly tackled by Trent Scott in the endzone.
This should have resulted in a safety. Thankfully, the missed call didn't affect the outcome of the game, and Pittsburgh would later get their revenge on the egregious spot call.
When the sixty minutes of action finally ticked down, the Pittsburgh Steelers once again found a way to put us all on the verge of heart attacks. We can just be glad they came away with an upset win in Week 10 over a red-hot Commanders team.
