The Steelers will go without two promising young stars against one of the NFL's top rosters.

The Pittsburgh Steelers face a daunting task on the road as they take on the Philadelphia Eagles. The deck may have been stacked against the Steelers, who haven't won in Philly since 1965, but the task is made more difficult with key absences.

For the most part, the Steelers have stayed relatively healthy during the 2024 season. Alex Highsmith and Nick Herbig have missed several games while James Daniels and Troy Fautanu quickly landed on injured reserve. The majority of the roster has done well to make themselves available.

Of course, battling through some tedious injuries during this gauntlet stretch of the schedule was to be somewhat expected. Overcoming that trouble at home against the lowly Cleveland Browns is one thing, doing it against the Eagles on the road is another.

Nonetheless, this is a potential Super Bowl matchup, a place these Steelers see themselves capable of reaching. A chance to prove themselves lies before them, no matter who is available.

Offensive Impacts

Without George Pickens, Pittsburgh's offense struggled to create explosive plays through the air against Cleveland. The same can be expected against Philly, though Mike Williams and Scotty Miller both showed some reliability against the Browns. They'll need more today.

Defensive Impacts

DeShon Elliot is a tough mid-week loss for the SteeleSteelers'rs defense. His number 25 reminds many Steelers fans of Ryan Clark and his presence in the intermediate areas of the defense will be missed. Thankfully, Demontae Kazee will step in as a veteran that the Steelers have trusted in the past.

Larry Ogunjobi doesn't fill the stat sheet to an eye-opening degree, but he is a strong presence along the defensive line. Dean Lowry will get a helmet with him missing the contest. Lowry has contributed mostly on special teams when active, but he's also made the most of the few defensive snaps he's gotten this season.

The Eagles are mostly healthy, at least in terms of availability. Among players not granted rest, only Sydney Brown failed to practice fully for at least two days, and he'll be active. A tough task against the Eagles is only made more difficult with them at a comfortable strength for Week 15.Eagles
