The Steelers offense has struggled mightily throughout the first six weeks of the 2024 season. Some of the issues are understandable and come down to untimely injuries and youth. One bright spot on the offense despite both of those factors has been rookie center Zach Frazier.

Unfortunately, Frazier has left the contest against the Raiders with an apparent injury to his left leg. While blocking downfield on a Najee Harris run, Frazier's left leg was rolled up on by an opposing Las Vegas player.

Frazier was taken off the field and sent to the blue medical tent for further evaluation. Officially, Frazier is listed as questionable to return with an ankle injury.

Steelers need their rookie center on the field

Frazier, a second-round pick out of West Virginia, has been one of the most consistent players for the Steelers all season, showing great maturity with his play. His strength lies in his run blocking and his ability to sustain blocks cleanly. He has struggled with a few errant snaps, but overall he's been lauded as one of the best offensive rookies in the NFL.

Veteran backup Ryan McCollum will step in to replace Frazier.

Frazier was shown on the broadcast leaving the medical tent as he was escorted to the locker room. The CBS crew added to the report that Frazier took some practice snaps with Russell Wilson before heading to the locker room.

We'll continue to monitor Frazier's status as more information becomes available.
