The Pittsburgh Steelers have had one of the most challenging offseasons in recent memory. They overturned their quarterback room again, failed to land a top option in free agency or the draft, and traded away George Pickens for draft picks in 2026.
This has, naturally, led to many fans and members of the media being concerned about both positions. Quarterback is a wait and see game with Aaron Rodgers. The Steelers have shown no interest in making a move at receiver, leaving major questions in that room once again.
That said, that isn’t Pittsburgh’s top concern on offense right now.
Looking at the offensive line, while the group has been heavily invested in, there are still a lot of questions in that room. More importantly, this group has zero depth. Heading into the dead part of the offseason, improving this room is a must.
The Pittsburgh Steelers need to add some fresh faces along the offensive line
While the starters are set for this team, adding a few extra pieces for depth is paramount right now. Guard is the position they are strongest at, as Spencer Anderson can take reps at either guard spot and play at a serviceable level.
The same can’t be said for the center room. Zach Frazier will hopefully make a leap in year two, but his backup, Ryan McCollum, could be improved upon. There isn’t a great free agent fit out there, but a name could become available later on.

The real concern is tackle depth. Neither of your starters is proven, and Calvin Anderson is a lackluster third option. Free agency still has some solid names out there, and the Steelers would be wise to take advantage of this depth.
I’ve already linked the team to former first-round pick Jedrick Wills. While he has questions about his desire to play, he has the pedigree and could push the other tackles in the room.
You could also go the veteran route with George Fant, who is more of a swing tackle at this point, but he is proven and can provide good depth and starter snaps if needed. No matter who it is, this team has options.
While the hope should be that the Steelers' starters stay healthy and finally start to grow and mature, we can’t bank on that. Add in a potential injury, and this group could fall apart.
The Steelers plan on winning close games with a grueling ground game and a good defense. If the offensive line falters, the run game will fail no matter who is back there. Getting better depth should be Omar Khan's top priority.
