Pittsburgh Steelers fans are eager to see what their team will do in free agency. This franchise has been perplexed at wide receiver since trading Diontae Johnson away a year ago. They tried to fill the void with Van Jefferson and Mike Williams, only to see those two options sputter out. With an entire offseason ahead, their fanbase is demanding change.

Who cares if Justin Fields or Russell Wilson becomes the starter if Omar Khan can't get the quarterback some weapons to work with? Of course, if the Steelers have a good complementary offense, it won't matter as much who's at the helm. Pittsburgh must find an upgrade at receiver once and for all, either in free agency, on the trade block, or in the draft.

Failing to land a big fish could result in them shopping the clearance rack and targeting some lesser-known free agents.

Under-the-radar wide receivers the Pittsburgh Steelers could target in free agency

Dyami Brown, Washington Commanders

Projected contract: 1-year, $1.9 million

We move into the bargain bin shopping of free agency here. Dyami Brown will probably sign a cheap one-year deal. It makes sense as the 4th-year man out of North Carolina only eclipsed more than 200 receiving yards in a season once throughout his career. That lone campaign just happened during the 2024 season.

Signing Brown would be best for adding competition to the Steeler's last roster spots at the receiver position. He isn't going to wow anyone, but he is a former third-round pick, so maybe there is something left in the tank. This pending free agent is coming off his best campaign as a depth player. Maybe with more starts, his production could vastly improve.

Tylan Wallace, Baltimore Ravens

Projected contract: 1-year, $1.7 million

If the Steelers let Cordarrelle Patterson go as a cap casualty, they could need a special teams guru.

Tylan Wallace doesn't hold as much weight behind his name as Patterson regarding their special teams prowess. Wallace would be cheaper and could have another gear as a receiver and a returner. He can give you different options both as a punt and kick returner. Pittsburgh could like that enough to offer Wallace a contract.

This free agent played his first four years with the Baltimore Ravens. He hasn't done much as a receiver besides a splash play this past season. He has only started one game during those four campaigns while the Ravens shuffled through different starting options. Wallace is a young receiver hitting free agency who could have better days ahead of him if a club is desperate enough.
