You can’t turn the ball over

Steelers quarterback

Ben Roethlisberger

spoke to

The Cook and Poni Show on 93.7 The Fan

on Tuesday and went over his performance in the 16-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Roethlisberger was returning from a four-game absence after suffering a knee injury in Week 3 against St. Louis.

Statistically, Roethlisberger hasn’t had the best showing in games returning from injury. Fortunately for the past few years, Steelers fans haven’t had to worry about that since he’s stayed relatively healthy. But, against the Bengals, Roethlisberger started out strong with an impressive first drive but ultimately kept forcing the ball into double coverage situations too many times and as a result, threw three interceptions.

"“It’s unfortunate, you can’t turn the ball over, and they were just little things here and there. It was nothing too glaring. I’m disappointed in myself.” – Ben Roethlisberger"

Twitter beef

Apparently it wasn’t just offensive lineman Ramon Foster and David DeCastro who were a bit salty over Vontaze Burfict’s hit that ultimately ended Le’Veon Bell‘s season. John Breech of CBS Sports tells us that Steelers linebacker Vince Williams took to Twitter to express his frustration about Burfict in what many can interpret as a threat.

Williams since deleted his tweets directed at Burfict but you can’t erase cyberspace. This is all leading to a pretty intense showdown in Cincinnati on Dec. 13th.

It takes a village

Quite possibly the best free agent pickup for the Steelers in a long time has been running back DeAngelo Williams, who seems to be the type of guy that could have been playing here his entire career. He immediately fit into the locker room and immediately contributed on the field for the first two games in Bell’s absence.

Now that Williams is the team’s lead running back for the remainder of the season, Bob Labriola explains that according to Mike Tomlin, Williams’ supporting cast will not be a one man job. Although the team signed Isaiah Pead on Monday and because Jordan Todman is next on the depth chart, expect a rotation of guys to step in and spell Williams from time to time.
