Call with Coach Peezy

Steelers fans who are members of Steelers Nation Unite got a treat on Tuesday when they were part of a conference call with OLB Coach Joey Porter. Fans had a Q & A session with the player-turned coach from everything from his time as a player for the Steelers to what to expect from the 2015 season and his new role of outside linebackers coach.

Porter explained how much fun it was to be a player for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"“I had a lot of fun. I wish I would re-live those days because it was so much fun. The experiences I had out there playing in front of the crowds at Three Rivers Stadium and Heinz Field is kind of unexplainable. I played with a lot of good guys, we won a lot of games and we had a lot of fun. It was nothing short of amazing.” – Joey Porter"

Steelers Free Agency Guide

The nerds at ESPN Insiders have put together comprehensive guides for each team about to enter the free agency period. They’ve compiled the team’s biggest needs, their possible top targets, and predictions on the outcome. For the Steelers they’ve decided that the biggest needs are the secondary, outside linebacker, and running back. (Shocking, I know)

The top targets for the Steelers in free agency are listed as Jason Worilds, defensive back Ron Parker and cornerback Rashean Mathis. They’ve predicted that James Harrison “could leave”, which isn’t exactly a bold prediction considering he’s totally left before, they won’t sign a running back and will instead use a draft pick for Le’Veon Bell’s backup and that they will sign a replacement for Worilds.

I agree with the idea of drafting a running back as opposed to picking one up in free agency, if the draft is deep with running backs, the better value for the team is there than in free agency. And I think it’s inevitable that they will have to sign Worilds replacement.

Bell cares not for your silly mocks, Mel Kiper

Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell went on a bit of a Twitter rant on Tuesday night about how inaccurate ESPN draft Guru Mel Kiper Jr was about him and some other players. It’s really rather entertaining.
