Just because Omar Khan already added D.K. Metcalf this offseason doesn't mean the Pittsburgh Steelers general manager is done making moves. The Steelers' receiving corps improved with their additions, and unless George Pickens gets traded, the team appears to be set with their current starters.

However, one should expect Pittsburgh to keep adding to the position group when the 2025 NFL Draft rolls around, as they have shown plenty of interest in receiving prospects this year.

If Khan wants to keep the competition intense, he must load up on talent. It doesn't matter if they draft a guy because there are other ways of signing talent to the team. With the United Football League returning, it presents a new talent field to comb over.

The Steelers have not been afraid to add UFL or other spring league talents in the past, and some receivers could make some noise.

Pittsburgh Steelers could look to UFL to add some talented WRs this offseason

Amari Rodgers - WR (Birmingham Stallions)

It will be his second year in the UFL, but Amari Rodgers wants better results. The veteran receiver was a third-round pick during the 2021 NFL draft. He was selected by the Green Bay Packers only to be let go the following year.

The former high-value selection bounced from the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts before landing in the UFL in 2023. He has a lot to do before getting to the NFL.

Pittsburgh isn't desperate for a receiver, but they could use better competition when training camp arrives. If Rodgers can produce quality stats as a twitchy receiver in the slot and make some plays as a punt returner, the Steelers could take notice.

If Rodgers cannot find his groove the second time around, his chances to make it back into the NFL could dwindle.

Greg Ward - WR (San Antonio Brahmas)

He might be one of the more notable receivers in the United Football League, but Greg Ward is doing his best to become relevant. The 29-year-old former college quarterback transitioned to the receiver position when he broke into the NFL.

He was an undrafted free agent and bounced around between the NFL and other spring leagues before making it.

Ward is doing his best to turn his fortunes around. He once had a solid season with the Philadelphia Eagles, producing six touchdowns in 10 starts during the 2020 campaign.

Ward is used to being counted out. He has only played the position during his professional career. A strong season with the Brahmas could get the Steelers considering the veteran as an option.

Justin Hall - WR (Houston Roughnecks)

Justin Hall is no stranger to the UFL or participating in spring football leagues.

This former undrafted free agent has struggled to find NFL opportunities despite his production in the UFL. He has remained one of the better receivers to play in spring football. Few other players at his position have come close to his production.

He is only 5-foot-8, which could scare away many teams. But one cannot rule him out, as his chances of making it in the NFL have been few.

If the Steelers consider signing a United Football League receiver, Hall could be their guy. Mike Tomlin loves MAC players, as this receiver was, as he hails from Ball State.

Tomlin will love that underdog story. Hall also has some versatility that could work in his favor. He can play multiple roles and has shown he can return kicks and punts on special teams.
