5 Pittsburgh Steelers players fans are most thankful for this year
Even though Steelers Nation might still be stinging from their flat performance against the Browns in Week 12, they should look at the whole picture. Yes, Mike Tomlin has fallen into his trap game mentality once again, with this time extending into this past game in Cleveland. You can't forget the five-game win streak that was in front of that loss, with two of those wins against playoff-caliber opponents.
As we hit Thanksgiving, it is always a good time to reflect and remind yourself of the good things you are thankful for. Sometimes people get lost in the day-to-day and forget to appreciate things in their lives that they might otherwise take for granted. The Steelers have some players that fans appreciate being in Pittsburgh and wearing the black and gold colors with pride.
Russell Wilson, QB
He might not be playing his best football right now, but Russell Wilson has been good for the Steelers. They needed a veteran guy who could provide leadership and a positive impact on Pittsburgh's locker room. Wilson has been able to do that and more. He is getting older and takes a lot of sacks, but he has been getting their offense up and down the field more consistently than past quarterbacks.
T.J. Watt, EDGE
He might have come up short in his head-to-head matchup with Myles Garrett, but T.J. Watt is still one of the best defensive players in football. Just seeing the amount of players each opposing offense sends his way to block him on each down is insane. It has caused his numbers to dip some in recent weeks, but Watt continues to change the game. He opens up more for his teammates to feast.

Zach Frazier, C
You cannot understate the level of impact Zach Frazier has had on the offensive line for the Steelers. He plays a quiet game, but he has shown to be such an improvement over the likes of Mason Cole and Nate Herbig. He is only a rookie, but he remains one of the top centers in the entire NFL. If Frazier can keep this career trajectory going, then he will be one of the best centers of all time for Pittsburgh.
Cam Heyward, DT
Everyone thought Cam Heyward was going to show signs of decline this season, but he has done the opposite. Despite having two surgeries within the past year, Heyward has found a way to fend off father time for another season. We will see if he can keep this level of play up, but he has been fantastic. Many in the NFL are not talking about how well Heyward has been playing this campaign.
George Pickens, WR
He might be on the verge of going full Antonio Brown for the Steelers, but George Pickens is a treat to watch play football. The Steelers have no other proven receivers on the roster right now so that just makes Pickens that much more valuable. He might do some crazy things that become social media memes each week, but there is never a dull moment for Pittsburgh when Pickens is on the field.
