As long as Aaron Rodgers is a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, fans will have to get used to being linked to the Green Bay Packers, whether they like it or not. That's even more true now that Mike McCarthy is the head coach of the Steelers, as he was the head coach of the Packers for 13 years and coached Rodgers during that time.
Now that the two are reunited in the Steel City, the Steelers/Packers comparisons are only going to grow louder. A recent linking, however, is one that Steelers fans will actually enjoy.
Adam Schein of SiriusXM's Mad Dog Sports Radio has high expectations for the Steelers in 2026. Not only does he think they'll be a really good team this year, but he has them outperforming Jordan Love and Matt LaFleur in Green Bay.
"I am here today to tell you that you are going to see Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers win a playoff game this year. I think that the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to be a really good to great team. I expect them to finish in first or second in their division," Schein said. "I think the Green Bay Packers versus the Pittsburgh Steelers, monitoring the win total. It's going to be a real fun thing this year. Both playing very tough divisions. Very tough divisions... But I firmly believe that you will see Aaron Rodgers and you will see Mike McCarthy have more wins this year than Jordan Love and Matt LaFleur."
Adam Schein says the Pittsburgh Steelers will be "really good to great" and have more wins than the Packers in 2026
Steelers fans would love to see this bold prediction come to fruition. It's been a long time since this franchise won a playoff game, and fans aren't holding their breath for that to happen this season, considering the changes that have happened.
Schein, however, is a believer. He likes what he's seen from the Steelers this offseason, and predicting them to be a better squad than the Packers, who have been consistent winners under Matt LaFleur, is quite the claim. Steelers fans would be happy to see it play out this way, especially with Packers fans taking any opportunity possible to dunk on Pittsburgh after hiring Mike McCarthy. How poetic would it be if the Steelers ended up being better than them in 2026?
We're still a long way out from knowing how the 2026 season will end but Steelers fans hope that Schein's prediction comes true. It'd make for a fun year, that's for sure.
