The moment we've all been waiting for is finally here. After a long-awaited tease, the Pittsburgh Steelers finally unveiled their alternate 'Steel City Legacy' uniforms that will be worn once this season. These are a tribute to Pittsburgh's 1933 throwback jerseys, and they will be worn when the Steelers face the Green Bay Packers in Week 8 on October 26 for Sunday Night Football.
Unfortunately, these jerseys aren't as aesthetically pleasing as much of the fanbase would have hoped.
As part of the jersey release, the team's official social media account released photos of the new Steelers legacy jerseys... and fans we quick to comment with their distaste.

Steelers Pro Shop, the official X account of licensed gear for the Pittsburgh Steelers, also dropped a post releasing photos of edge rusher Alex Highsmith and tight end Pat Freiermuth in their new gear. But the comments were more of the same.

One fan commented with 'one of the worst jersey designs I've ever seen', while another joked and said 'when you order your bumblebee Steelers jersey off Temu'. An overwhelming number of comments point to a negative reaction to the Steelers' legacy jerseys.
The Pittsburgh Steelers missed the mark with their long-awaited jersey release
When it comes to gameday attire, the Pittsburgh Steelers fanbase doesn't ask for much. An overwhelming majority have been begging for the 'block number' jerseys to be their default uniforms, as the gear from the 70's Steelers dynasty still is coveted today.
When rumors surfaced that the Steelers would be getting yellow helmets as part of their legacy jerseys, most fans assumed it would be accompanied by the black jerseys, or perhaps even an all-yellow color rush. Instead, we're getting vertical stripes and tan pants—not exactly the combination fans were looking for.

These new alternate jerseys immediately have fans likening them to the 'Killer Bees' jerseys (yellow with black stripes). Most fans considered those an eyesore, so it's surprising to see the team unveil something not far off.
If we can get past the questionable yellow, black, and tan color scheme and see the deeply-rooted history of these jerseys, Pittsburgh Steelers fans can learn to love them. On a positive note, fans will only have to see these hideous jerseys once, when the Steelers take on the historic Packers on SNF in Week 8.
