Football is back! After nearly half a year without any notable NFL action, teams are reporting to training camp with the 2023 preseason just weeks away. The Pittsburgh Steelers have plenty of new faces on their roster this year.

Some of these players, like Patrick Peterson, fans already know pretty well. For dozens of others on their 90-man roster, fans could use a quick breakdown of who they are and where they stand in 2023.

By the end of Steelers training camp and when roster cuts near, those who follow along closely will have a much better understanding of each player who will be relevant to the picture in 2023. For now, here is one quick thought on each player on Pittsburgh's 90-man roster heading into Steelers training camp.

Quarterback: QB Outlook is pretty straightforward

Kenny Pickett: There's no turning back from the former first-round pick. Kenny Pickett made improvements down the stretch as a rookie in 2022, but a second-year leap is expected this season. He might not put up gaudy numbers in Matt Canada's offense, but the difference should be noticeable on film.

Mitch Trubisky: The Steelers liked Trubisky enough to give him a two-year, $11.25 million extension during the 2023 offseason. The former number 2 overall pick has finally excepted his role as a backup who will help get Pickett ready for each game. Trubisky is mobile and experienced should Pickett miss some time in 2023.

Mason Rudolph: Rudolph is the longest-tenured quarterback on the Steelers roster. The free agent market may have fallen through this offseason, but he still has a home in Pittsburgh as the QB3. Rudolph's experience in the system should be another voice for Pickett on gameday, as his job will consist of holding a clipboard on Sundays.

Tanner Morgan: The odds of Tanner Morgan making the final roster are remarkably slim due to the established players ahead of him. Still, Morgan could make a name for himself during the preseason. The former Minnesota product doesn't have size or athletic traits on his side, but he was smart and experienced at the collegiate level.
