It is blatant and clear which direction the Pittsburgh Steelers need to go in the 2025 NFL Draft. Above all other positions, it's the quarterback room that's screaming for help right now.

This isn't the year to be quarterback-needy, but here we are. The 2025 class isn't loaded with talent by any means, but Pittsburgh still needs to take a shot. And, there are a couple of good options which might entice the Steelers.

The big question, right now, is whether or not Pittsburgh will need to make a move to try and land one of them. Most notably, Colorado's Shedeur Sanders has been a big talking point amongst the fan base.

Picking at no. 21 overall, will Pittsburgh be in line to draft Sanders if they so choose? No one knows what to believe at this point. Some think Sanders will drop out of the first round entirely, while others still believe he'll get snatched up on Day 1.

One team will have a massive impact on the Steelers' chances at drafting Shedeur Sanders

Jeff Duncan, a New Orleans Saints beat reporter for The Times Picayune/NOLA dot com, recently shared a pretty straightforward message when it comes to New Orleans' draft plans.

"I'm not sure who the Saints are going to pick at No. 9 on Thursday night. But I think I can safely say that it won't be Shedeur Sanders."

If we're looking at the first round, it might only be the Saints getting in the way of Pittsburgh getting their hands on Sanders at 21 overall. And, if the Saints aren't going to go the direction of Sanders, then who knows? It just might be smooth sailing if Pittsburgh wants their guy.

Now, there is obviously potential of another team trading up in front of Pittsburgh if they'd like a chance at drafting Sanders. If Sanders is still available close to pick 20, do not be surprised in the least bit if a team like the Cleveland Browns or New York Giants uses their early second rounder to trade back into the first.

If Cleveland were to leapfrog Pittsburgh, that would hurt a little extra for Steelers fans who want Sanders.

The Browns, of course, recently signed Joe Flacco to come in and give Cleveland added depth alongside Deshaun Watson and Kenny Pickett. But, with the disaster that's been their quarterback room, don't rule out a top prospect in this draft. The Browns have to do everything to try and erase the blunder of that Watson trade and contract.

Pittsburgh, meanwhile, has Mason Rudolph penciled in as their starter while they also continue to wait a decision from Aaron Rodgers.

Will Sanders be a Steeler come Thursday night?
