Steelers will have ideal weather conditions to trounce the Giants on MNF

Don't worry; no monsoon is expected in Pittsburgh for this primetime matchup in Week 8.

We've seen firsthand how weather conditions can impact a football game. Week 5 is a great example. When the Pittsburgh Steelers hosted the Dallas Cowboys for Sunday Night Football, thunderstorms rolled in -- causing ninety minutes of delays before kickoff.

The torrential rain also created poor field conditions as players were slipping left and right. The Steelers had tremendous difficulty getting the running game and passing game going against Dallas for one of their worst offensive performances of the season, which resulted in a loss against a depleted Cowboys team.

Fortunately, we won't witness the same weather conditions on Monday Night Football.

In Week 8, the Steelers will host the New York Giants at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh for their third home primetime game. The Giants have expectedly been an underwhelming football team with quarterback Daniel Jones at the helm, and they enter MNF with a 2-5 record -- last in the NFC East.

Steelers can expect perfect weather conditions for MNF

On Monday evening in Pittsburgh, we can expect clear skies and cool temperatures hovering around 49 degrees and south-southeast winds of 6 miles per hour. Most importantly, there is only a one percent chance of rain with 0.00 inches of precipitation expected, according to AccuWeather.com.

While we could see wind gusts as high as 16 mph, this isn't nearly as important of a factor as a dry evening in Pittsburgh. The weather conditions on SNF against the Cowboys in Week 5 made it difficult for the Steelers offense to get anything going. Neither team will have that excuse this week.

With excellent weather expected, this will simply be a battle to see which team is more talented and who can execute their game plan best. The Steelers are looking to advance to 6-2 on the season and, despite their injuries, they clearly have a more talented roster than the Giants.

This doesn't mean Pittsburgh can take an inferior opponent lightly. Malik Nabers is one of the most dynamic young receivers in the league already, while Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burns are capable of wreaking havoc on the quarterback.

Still, in a contest where the Steelers have home-field advantage, a better roster on paper, and better coaching, fans can be thankful weather conditions won't play a factor on Monday Night Football.
