Pittsburgh should witness a lot of turnover for their favorite football team. They have a comfortable amount of cap space to work with to become big spenders in free agency. They remain in the middle part of the first round, but they should still land an impact player with their top pick. The Steelers must find a path to create a talented team to boost their quarterback.
Philadelphia remains a perfect example of what teams must do going forward. You must invest in the trenches, no matter if it's on offense or defense. You got to do this every offseason, outside of how well-ranked those groups are. There are options available this offseason for the Steelers to create a terrific 53-man roster when that time arrives.
Pittsburgh Steelers mix free agent targets and the NFL Draft to boost their offense
Quarterback (3): Justin Fields, Drew Lock, Quinn Ewers
They form a solid quarterback room after Pittsburgh lets Russell Wilson pack his bags for another destination. Justin Fields gets chosen as the starter for the Steelers in 2025. Drew Lock would be a great fit in Arthur Smith's offense. Quinn Ewers is a mid-round flyer by Omar Khan. He gets a year to develop so he can become the backup quarterback of the future.
Running back (3): Jaylen Warren, Devin Neal, A.J. Dillon
Jaylen Warren becomes their top running back in this scenario. They decide to sign A.J. Dillon on a cheap one-year deal to be the bruiser on the depth chart. Devin Neal becomes a high pick for the Steelers. He has an all-around game, but there is no rush for him to emerge as a rookie with Warren and Dillon in front of him.
Wide receiver (6): George Pickens, Christian Kirk, Matthew Golden, Calvin Austin III, Roman Wilson, Ben Skowronek
They go with six receivers on the roster, and it's a much better group than last season. They have Christian Kirk and Matthew Golden enter the fold. It is a deep group of receivers, but they need depth. The Steelers cannot enter the next campaign with the same issues that plagued them last year. This group has a mix of playmakers and guys who can provide aid on special teams.
Tight end (3): Pat Freiermuth, Darnell Washington, MyCole Pruitt
While the Steelers were at the NFL Combine, it has become clear they are interested in adding another tight end. They couldn't add anyone to the draft, so they rolled with the same group as last year. They have their top weapon with Pat Freiermuth and two block options with Darnell Washington and MyCole Pruitt. This depth chart might be their best bet.
Offensive line (9): Broderick Jones, Isaac Seumalo, Zach Frazier, Mason McCormick, Troy Fautanu, Spencer Anderson, Clay Webb, Dylan Cook, Trent Brown
Everyone gets their wish as Broderick Jones and Troy Fautanu become the starting tackles. There are little surprises, but Clay Webb earns a spot as a versatile interior offensive lineman coming out of the draft. Trent Brown was a cheap signing in free agency to boost the roster's depth as a swing tackle. Dylan Cook has worked hard to stick with the team, and he should.

Pittsburgh Steelers add more beef into the trenches for their defense
Defensive line (7): Cam Heyward, Milton Williams, Deone Walker, Keeanu Benton, Montravius Adams, Logan Lee, DeMarvin Leal
Even though Pittsburgh accomplished a lot in the defensive trenches, you'd still like more depth. This 53-man roster has them making a splash in free agency with Milton Williams and investing in a top pick with Deone Walker. They want to be similar to the Eagles, so the Steelers must continue to invest money and draft picks into trench warfare.
Linebacker (8): T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith, Nick Herbig, Josh Uche, Patrick Queen, Payton Wilson, Elandon Roberts, Tyler Matakevich
They decide to go with only eight linebackers on this roster. Their core of edge rushers is strong after bringing Josh Uche aboard in free agency. Their inside linebacker position is okay for now, but if either Payton Wilson or Patrick Queen gets injured, they will be in trouble. The Steelers decided to risk the injury concerns to keep players at other positions.
Cornerback (6): Joey Porter Jr., Cory Trice, Beanie Bishop, James Pierre, Azareye'h Thomas, Jourdan Lewis
Pittsburgh must solve their issues at the cornerback position this offseason if they want a shot at relevancy. They don't sign any big-name free agents, but they provide a strong group with depth and young players who can compete for starting jobs. They signed Jourdan Lewis as their starting slot cornerback and pushed Beanie Bishop into a depth role.
Safety (5): Minkah Fitzpatrick, DeShon Elliott, Miles Killebrew, Marcus Maye, Jordan Clark
The upcoming season will be a factor in the future outcome of safety. The Steelers need Minkah Fitzpatrick to bounce back and have DeShon Elliott continue his performance from last season. They bring Marcus Maye and Jordan Clark into the building as depth guys. Clark is the son of former Steeler, Ryan Clark. Mike Tomlin will love those bloodlines.
Specialists (3): Chris Boswell (K), Cameron Johnston (P), Christian Kuntz (LS)
The Steelers are blessed to have Chris Boswell as their kicker, and he will be as long as he continues his current path. Cameron Johnston must win his job, but Pittsburgh is paying him too much, so he will be their punter. Christian Kuntz is the hometown guy who the city loves. They won't challenge him for his job anytime soon.
