Steelers could attack tanking teams for last-minute trade deadline deal

Perhaps some trades could have been more logical if certain teams lost in Week 9, but the Steelers should still have plenty of dance partners. With the trade deadline on November 5, Pittsburgh seems ready to make a deal. We will soon find out if Omar Khan is comfortable forking up the asking price in a trade or if the front office is willing to try and be tough gamblers in negotiations.

Seven clubs have an abysmal 2-7 record going into the trade deadline: the Patriots, Jaguars, Saints, Panthers, Browns, Raiders, and Giants. Those seven teams should be perfect options for the Steelers to try to steal from.

Pittsburgh can try to attack some needs for which they could use upgrades. It would be shocking if these losing clubs weren't at least willing to listen to trade offers on players, as they could use some help in the future.

7 teams Steelers could trade with before the deadline

New England Patriots trade pieces: Kendrick Bourne (WR), K.J. Osborn (WR)

Reports came out that had the Steelers potentially showing trade interest in some Patriots receivers. Both Kenrick Bourne and K.J. Osborn were both linked to Pittsburgh. Both could make sense, but it seems like the black and gold would be better off trying to acquire other receivers. Out of the two, Bourne seems like the best option to potentially be an upgrade over what the Steelers currently have.

Jacksonville Jaguars trade pieces: Gabriel Davis (WR)

Well, it sounds like the Steelers were set to land Christian Kirk in a trade before his season-ending injury happened. Now, they might not have a star option, unless the Jaguars are willing to depart with Gabriel Davis. The speedy receiver just signed a massive deal with Jacksonville this past offseason. If Pittsburgh could talk the Jaguars into retaining salary, then this could be a nice trade.

New Orleans Saints trade pieces: Chris Olave (WR)

He just suffered a scary concussion this past week, but Chris Olave could remain a trade target for the Steelers. He would be a huge addition as long as his health checks out. New Orleans has fallen off a cliff since their hot start to the season. Olave is a star receiver and has some extra time under his current rookie contract. Would be terrific next to George Pickens at receiver.

Carolina Panthers trade pieces: Adam Thielen (WR), Jaycee Horn (CB), Jonathan Mingo (WR)

One of the hotter names in the Steelers rumor mill is Adam Thielen. He would be a nice veteran upgrade at the position for relatively cheap. Jaycee Horn would be a tremendous piece to bring onto the defense and solve the long-term answer opposite of Joey Porter Jr. Jonathan Mingo is a young receiver who Pittsburgh could be interested in as a buy-low option who could excel on another team.

Cleveland Browns trade pieces: Elijah Moore (WR), Greg Newsome II (CB)

They have traded with the Steelers in the past, so it's not out of the realm of possibility for a deal with Pittsburgh to get across the finish line. Elijah Moore is a young receiver who has started to come alive since getting a bigger role on offense. Greg Newsome II has been a terrific nickel cornerback for the Browns and is someone who could provide a long-term answer there for the defense.

Las Vegas Raiders trade pieces: Jakobi Meyers (WR)

Las Vegas is a mess, and it won't be getting any better. They traded Davante Adams earlier in the season, but Jakobi Meyers would be a magnificent trade acquisition if the Steelers could talk the Raiders into letting him go. He would be a tremendous fit with Pittsburgh and has been an underrated receiver for a while now. Meyers continuously has found ways of making plays in Las Vegas.

New York Giants trade pieces: Darius Slayton (WR), Wan'Dale Robinson (WR), Evan Neal (OT)

Everyone in the NFL should be talking to the Giants about potential trade options before the deadline passes. Darius Slayton remains an obvious choice for the Steelers to try and acquire. Wan'Dale Robinson is a younger option with some term left who has produced. Evan Neal could be an interesting choice as he has fallen out of favor with New York and could be a nice project player.
